My work with photography is an ongoing exploration of light, texture and presence, currently within the landscape of Sørum gård. Working with analog processes and a close observation of material surfaces, the images are visual studies — not just depictions — of the world I inhabit and encounter on a day-to-day basis.

In photography I find many parallells to my work as a composer through examining textural timbres, movement, foreground / background, tonality, colour and dynamics. Just like other fields of study I pursue, be it of scientific, philosophical or artistic nature, doing so always seems to “leak” into my composing in the form of new musical ideas I otherwise might not have discovered. In this regard I pursue photography both as a continous dialogue with my music, as well as an artistic expression in it´s own right.

In August 2026 I will display the photographic project Habitat #1 - photographic studies from Sørum farm in the combined gallery/library in the barn at Sørum farm. Habitat #1 is the first of a series of photographic studies exploring the relationship between nature, human made objects, time and light at geographically restricted areas.

I work mostly analogue shooting both colour and B/W film, using a Rolleiflex 3.5F medium format camera from 1958 and a late 70ies Minolta SRT100X.
