FRAGMENTER
(under utvikling)
Sæming Hole
Fragmenter draws on compositions and folk music transcriptions by my forefathers Guren and Sæming Hole, who lived and worked in Rendalen, Norway, in the late nineteenth century. Through archival research, composition and collaborative efforts I will explore how this material can give rise to new sounds, textures and soundscapes, and serve as a foundation for new music for both solo double bass and larger ensembles.
Fragmenter also includes an exploratory interdisciplinary strand that investigates memory, landscape and sound through photography and field recording.
This page documents different stages of the process. Here I will share sound examples, photographs and other materials related to the ongoing work.
